Rowling to Lyndon B. Johnson. It was pretty weird. It was full of cringe-worthy puns. But it was pretty earnest and funny though.

I came up with my own prompt, “Write an...

Anonymous asked: to the senior in high school who got into northwestern and harvard, how do you already know?!
Anonymous asked: Hey guys. I just want to comment on the unpredictability of college admissions. I'm a senior in high school who was accepted to Northwestern and Harvard. But guess what? I was deferred from UChicago. Don't worry about where you're going to get in. Even if you get rejected one place, you definitely will shine in another.

For that person interested in finance...
Near the end of your first year, you can apply for Chicago Careers in Business. They offer a special program in financial markets as well. It’s the closest you can get to being a business/finance major (other than just doing econ), and when you graduate it will be on your transcript. Here’s a link! https://caps.uchicago.edu/cci/business.shtml (if you are interested in financial...
Re: Finance programs at UChicago—we do not have a finance major or minor here. What you’d do is be an econ major and look into the Graham School or Booth for classes that are finance based.
Anonymous asked: How good is the English department at UChicago? Also are any finance major/minor/certificate programs, etc., available to students? Thanks! :) -deferred student hoping to get in.... (on an unrelated note, how likely is that to happen?)

Anonymous asked: If you want to double major, do you need to know what you want to double major in as soon as you step onto campus? I'm thinking about doing a double major, but I'm not positive what two majors I want yet. Also, how insane is it to do a double major? Will it mean 4 years of hell and no electives?
